Data Sources and Licensing
The short version. Some of the opportunities listed on Invest Business are reproduced from public grant and procurement portals so that you can search them alongside everything else in one place. They are reproduced for consultation only. The official portal is the authoritative record and ours is a copy of it — always check the official listing before you rely on it or apply. Invest Business is not endorsed by, affiliated with, or working in partnership with any of the bodies named on this page.

1. The sources we reproduce
Listings that we did not receive directly from a member of the platform are drawn from the public sources below. Every such listing carries a label naming its source and a link back to the original notice on the official portal.
Find a Grant (GOV.UK)
Grant opportunities published by United Kingdom government departments and their arm's-length bodies on the Find a Grant service, which at the time of writing is a service in beta. Sourced from Find a Grant (GOV.UK). This information is licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0 — see section 2.
Find a Tender (GOV.UK)
Public procurement notices published by United Kingdom contracting authorities on the Find a Tender service. Sourced from Find a Tender (GOV.UK).
Business finance support (GOV.UK)
Business support schemes — finance, grants, loans, equity, expert advice and recognition awards — published in the business finance support collection on GOV.UK by United Kingdom government departments and the public bodies, devolved administrations and local partners that run them. Sourced from GOV.UK. This information is licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0 — see section 2.
Two things about these schemes differ from every other source on this page, and both matter before you use one. They carry no dates. They are standing programmes rather than dated calls, and the source publishes no opening date, no closing date and no deadline for them at all. A listing therefore shows none. That is the source being silent — it is not a scheme with unlimited time, and it is not a value we failed to copy.
And not every scheme is money. Roughly half of them offer only expertise, advice or a recognition award, with no finance, grant, loan or equity attached at all. Read the scheme's own page before assuming that funding is on offer.
Many of these schemes are delivered by a body other than GOV.UK and continue on to that body's own website. We link to the GOV.UK page, because that is the record we copied; follow it through to the provider to apply.
TED — Tenders Electronic Daily (European Union)
Public procurement notices published in the Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union through TED (Tenders Electronic Daily), the European Union's procurement notice service. Sourced from TED; TED is not a United Kingdom source and the Open Government Licence does not apply to it.
2. Open Government Licence
Information from Find a Grant (GOV.UK) and from the GOV.UK business finance support collection is public sector information licensed for re-use. The licence requires us to acknowledge the source, which we do both on this page and on each individual listing:
The licence permits us to copy, publish and adapt that information, including commercially, on condition that we attribute it. It does not permit us to reproduce departmental logos, crests, the Royal Arms, or any government or military insignia, and it does not extend to third-party rights — see section 5.
3. Accuracy, dates and deadlines
We copy what the source publishes. We do not edit the substance of a listing, and we do not invent values that the source did not provide — where a field is missing we show nothing rather than a placeholder, because an empty deadline must never be read as "still open".
Some sources publish no dates at all. The GOV.UK business finance support schemes are standing programmes, and the source carries no opening or closing date for any of them, so their listings show none — see section 1.
Dates in particular need care. Some closing dates published on Find a Grant are explicitly provisional: one grant states in its own text that its date reflects the period for which funding is currently confirmed, rather than a known closure date. Others differ between a portal's search results and the grant's own page. Where a listing shows a grant deadline we mark it as published and ask you to check the official page — that page, not this platform, is the record that counts.
A copied listing may also lag the original: opportunities can be amended, extended, suspended or withdrawn on the official portal before that change reaches us. Applications are made on the official portal, never here.
4. No endorsement and no partnership
Invest Business reproduces this information under the terms that permit its re-use. That is all. We are not endorsed by, approved by, affiliated with, or in partnership with the Cabinet Office, the Government Digital Service, any United Kingdom government department or agency, the Crown, the European Union, the Publications Office of the European Union, or any funder or contracting authority named in a listing. Re-using public information does not imply that any of those bodies endorses Invest Business or the way we present their information.
5. Emblems, logos and third-party rights
We do not reproduce the Royal Arms, departmental crests, government or military insignia, or the logos and trade marks of funders and contracting authorities. Those are excluded from the Open Government Licence and remain the property of their owners. Where a source listing contains material owned by a third party, that material remains subject to the third party's own rights and is not covered by the licence under which we re-use the rest of the record.
6. Personal data
We do not reproduce named individual contacts from these sources. Where a source record identifies a person, that field is removed before the listing is shown. Our handling of personal data generally is described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Corrections and contact
